​Aya Mewafy

Believing that teaching young children is one of the most important and impactful professions, I began my journey at Medina Academy in 2007—fulfilling a long-held dream to be part of this meaningful field. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with preschool and pre-K students, and to teach Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Quran.

I have a bachelor’s degree in business and hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. I also have earned Initial, Short, and Washington State Early Childhood certificates. I’m currently pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, and I am hoping to complete the degree in the next year. I’ve also completed various trainings and certifications in all the curriculum and screening that is implemented in Medina.

My passion lies in nurturing children, reading stories, and sharing joyful learning moments. As a proud mother of four—who all attended Medina Academy—I treasure quality family time, whether it’s traveling, painting, or gardening. Originally from Egypt and a Redmond resident since 1999, I’m deeply grateful for the trust families place in me to care for and educate their children.
