Students lead the way in creativity, marketing, and messaging

Four weeks after its launch, the student-led MedinaCares Social Media Club is already making an impressive impact at Medina Academy. Students have spent the past month shaping the club’s mission, outlining content goals, and developing a clear vision for how they want to uplift and represent the school community.

Members have mapped out their target audience, drafted branding ideas, and established guidelines to ensure all content remains positive, respectful, and aligned with Islamic values. Their organization and teamwork have set a solid foundation for the projects now underway.

First Major Project: Recycling Can Contest Campaign

The club recently took on its first school-wide assignment—creating the promotional campaign for the Million Cans Recycling Can Contest. Students divided into three teams, each taking on a different media role:

    • Skit Team: Writing and performing a short educational skit about recycling and environmental stewardship.
    • Video Team: Producing a promotional video, from storyboarding to filming and editing.
    • Design Team: Creating posters and visual materials to encourage school participation.

Through this project, students are practicing communication, creative problem-solving, digital media skills, and Islamic values tied to responsibility and caring for the earth.

What’s Next

With plans for interviews, highlight reels, Islamic reminders, monthly podcasts, and a “Medina Times” feature, the Social Media Club is just getting started. Their dedication and teamwork continue to shine, and we’re excited to see what they create next. Please follow their content on https://www.instagram.com/medinastudentlife/
