📝 Incomplete or unverifiable forms won’t count toward award totals.

💡 What Counts as Volunteering

Volunteering at Medina Academy includes any activity that benefits others directly, supports the school’s mission, or contributes positively to the community, whether through clubs, community organizations, or independent projects. Student-led club meetings for service projects count as they encourage students to think about others in every sphere of life. Examples include mentoring younger students in Debate Club; writing articles in E-Newspaper Club promoting Medina Academy; recording podcasts in Podcast Club; creating digital campaigns in Social Media Club; volunteering at food banks, tutoring, or organizing donation drives in Community Service Club; and recycling, planting trees, or other environmental projects in Environmental Action Club.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

You don’t need to register in advance. Simply start volunteering when competition is announced, and submit your hours using the official volunteer tracking form.

Yes — up to 25% of your total volunteer hours may come from projects completed outside of Medina Academy, as long as they align with our mission: helping others directly, furthering the cause of Medina Academy, or strengthening the community.

These hours must be verified by the organization where you volunteered. Verification should be sent via email to 📧 mcc@medinaacademy.org.

Examples (25% of total hours):

  • Bronze (40–49 hours): Up to 10–12 hours from outside organizations
  • Silver (50–79 hours): Up to 12–20 hours from outside organizations

Only verified, mission-aligned activities will count toward your total service hours.

Yes! Each participant may log their own verified hours based on their actual contribution.

Examples:

  • Ready-to-eat food packing event: Students who assemble, label, and load meal kits each log their hours.
  • E-Newspaper Club: Students who research, write, edit, or publish stories each log their time- only if the article qualifies as volunteering

When you fill out the volunteer tracking form, your supervising teacher, club advisor, or event organizer must verify your hours—only verified hours will be credited to your account.

Medina Academy activities: Your form will be automatically sent to supervisors for approval. Please ensure all details are completed.

Outside activities: Have your supervisor email mcc@medinaacademy.org with your name, hours, and activity details.

Absolutely! All eligible volunteer hours completed between competition start and end dates count toward your total, even if they come from different clubs or projects.

Students who exceed 100 hours will receive special recognition at the year-end awards ceremony.

Awards will be presented at the end-of-year MedinaCares Volunteer Service Award Celebration in June 2026.

Any activity done for payfor academic credit, or without a clear service benefit to others does not qualify.
