Debate wins at Seattle U competition
Medina Academy Debate Team participated in the Speech & Debate Tournament hosted by Seattle University on Sunday, May 24th. The event brought together students from multiple schools to compete in structured argumentation and persuasive speaking formats.
Elementary students competed in Pro-Con style debate, while middle school students participated in Public Forum debate, engaging in formal rounds of evidence-based discussion and cross-examination against peer competitors.
Individual Speaker Awards and Honors
Medina Academy students earned several distinctions across different categories of the competition:
- M. Bilal Sait — announced as 6th place, Best Debate Speaker at prize distribution ceremony
- Mahdi Amro — 5th place, Best Debate Speaker (5th Grade category)
- Abrar Memon — 6th place, Best Debate Speaker (5th Grade category)
- Nuha Nur — 8th place, Best Debate Speaker (4th Grade category)
- Hiba Faheed- Honors Award
- Hana Faheed- Honors Award
- Abdul Malik- Honors Award
- Hareem Alam- Honors Award
Team Achievements
A standout performance came from the Pro-Con debate team composed of:

This team earned a 3-in-1 Team Award in recognition of their collaborative performance and strong debate execution. They also placed 5th overall in Pro-Con style debate.
Another Medina Academy team, consisting of:
- Aaminah Chaudhry
- Maryam Rehan
- Abrar Memon
was recognized as an Emerging Team in Elementary Pro-Con Debate, highlighting their promising performance and growth in competitive debate.
