Redmond is Ready for the World

As the FIFA World Cup 2026 comes to the Pacific Northwest, 34 students from Medina Academy in Redmond came together to celebrate the spirit of global connection through art.

This installation brings together nations from around the world and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Each painted soccer ball represents a participating country, while regional-inspired elements reflect the landscapes and landmarks of our home. Crystal raindrops—evoking Seattle’s iconic rainfall—flow through the installation, symbolizing the connections that unite people, cultures, and communities.

At the center, painted wooden medallions honor the three host nations of the FIFA World Cup 2026—Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Created in partnership with OneRedmond, this student-led project celebrates friendship, diversity, and the unifying power of sport. Following the exhibition, all soccer balls will be donated to MAPS-MCRC to support refugee and newcomer youth, extending the project’s journey beyond this wall.
