MedinaCares Council is excited to announce that Medina Academy is joining more than 50 schools nationwide in the Million Cans Recycling Contest, running now through April 30, 2026!
This nationwide challenge encourages students to recycle empty aluminum beverage cans while learning about sustainability, teamwork, and protecting our planet — and we need your help to win! 🏆
💡 How It Works
Students will collect and recycle aluminum beverage cans throughout the school year.
💰 100% of proceeds stay at Medina Academy, supporting programs, resources, and improvements for our students.
Aluminum cans are one of the most valuable and easily recyclable materials — meaning every can collected makes a real impact for our school and the planet.
🔄 The Process
1️⃣ Enjoy your drink
2️⃣ Save your empty aluminum cans
3️⃣ Drop them in the 20-yard bin located in the drive-through area in Redmond campus during drop-off or pick-up
✅ Accepted cans: soda, juice, sparkling water

- Collect cans at home, work, or community events
- Ask neighbors, friends, and relatives to save their cans for Medina Academy
- Bring cans regularly and drop off directly in dumpster at Redmond campus for recycling
- Encourage your students to participate and help track our progress

🌱 Join the Environmental Action Club (Grades 4–10)
Want to take your impact even further? Students in grades 4–10 are invited to join the MedinaCares Environmental Action Club — a student-led group dedicated to making Medina Academy more eco-friendly and sustainability-focused.
Club members will:
